FAQs
Do I need any special equipment to do tai chi or qigong?
Nope! All you need is loose, comfortable clothing and flat, secure shoes (no slides or flip-flops allowed).
Should I consult my doctor before beginning tai chi?
Sure. It’s always a good idea to talk to your doctor before starting any new exercise routine. If you have any medical conditions or injuries, ask your physician what’s best for you. The exercises we do are comparable to walking in terms of intensity.
Can I take tai chi classes and still do other forms of exercise?
Absolutely! Tai chi enhances the benefits you get from other forms of exercise. In fact, studies have shown that it helps young people do better in sports.
Is tai chi a religion? Does it contradict my faith?
Not at all. Tai chi is a form of exercise and meditation. It helps clear your mind and strengthen your body. It does not require worship of any particular deity. Its core principles are peace, openness, perseverance, uprightness, and balance. These values harmonize with the teachings of all major religions.

What if your classes are far away from me?

What’s your refund policy?
Donations for drop-in sessions are optional and non-refundable. Classes for organizations are invoiced monthly, and we will not bill you for any classes that we cancel due to inclement weather or other emergencies. If for any reason a contracted class does not meet your expectations, we will work with you to make it right. Classes that have already been delivered are non-refundable.
